My week and other ramblings

ah, another week down. We had some good times this week. We made skeletons (laminated cardstock and rads) and sang the "dry bones" song only with the REAL names of the bones. Who would sing "the toe bone's connected to the foot bone" when they COULD say "the phalangaes connect to the tarsals"?? Everyone already knows the toe bone connects to the foot bone, its a duh. Anywho, fun listening to the kids try to pronounce the new words. Phalanges is the favorite. Don't know why the kids like it above other silly bone names (Humerus?) but they do. I cant help recalling an episode of Bones where she trys to entertain a baby. Guess you gotta know the show to really get it, but heres a clip.
They enjoyed making their skeletons dance around.
Yesterday they painted t-shirts. It was fun. We used sink sponges, makeup sponges, and potatoe sponges (carved by the ever so handy Brittney). They put their shirts on this morning first thing and I had to be quick to get pictures before they got them dirty in any way. They loved this project. I found that the best place to get shirts (after buying theirs for $4 a piece at the craft store) is in packs at walmart. They are about $2.25 a piece that way (set of 3 for 7), and you have more for the painting!.
Finally getting this finished and posted! Started it 5/21
