So, today ended well, though it was a bit rocky starting. Stayed up too late last night and woke up late today. I don't know who thought 9am was a good starting time for church but we find it quite the challenge. Well, started with the food getting and then the showering but we were falling farther and farther behind what with small children needing to "sit" (go potty for longer then a tinkle) and such. It was soon obvious that we were not all going to make it. Seeing as how Matt was teaching and kids can not stay home alone (not yet) I was the one not ready when go time came. Now, go time was NOT 9am but 10am getting the kids there just in time for primary. They made it. Rachel came home with cute cut-out hands bracelets that said "I am thankful for my hands" on. Hmmm....forgot to quiz Matthew on his class. Anywho, Matt suggested a park picnic so we all changed and packed up food and headed out. Ended up at this beautiful, huge, park in Portland called peninsula rose park (I think). One end has a HUGE water fountain and rose garden (just starting to bloom) and the other a playground. We had asked James and Brittney along but James had plans with a friend so he just dropped Brittney and Violet off with us for a bit. After f
ood (watermelon, strawberries, pineapple, chips and bean dip) we walked to the fountain and then sat and played games while kids played on the playground. Actually, they spent most of their time taking turns with other kids being spun/pushed on they tire swing by two older girls (10ish?). They would sit and wait even 5 minutes for their turn. Amazing, seeing as how I cant get them to hold still for 5 seconds! Especially my Rachel girl. Poor Violet was not in a great mood, but she loved the fountain (who doesn't love a good 
fountain?) And when her Daddy showed up she was happier. Teeth trying to get through gums....glad I cant recall it. We took the scenic route home, OK a detour, and it was green and beautiful. Drove off into the sunset (literally). I was SO tired. Got on the computer while waiting for tired Rachel to stop crying for whatever reason she could think of and ended up blogging for 2 hours!!!
